Methodology and the result of journal

Holla reader's welcome back in my blog, in this opportunity I would like to share the methodology in my journal before I read. So let's check this out !!
In a study there must be a method that is used, the goal is to find out how influential the technique used for the student is examined. In this journal the research was conducted on D-IV Midwifery Program students in the Health Sciences Faculty of the University of Kediri, East Java. The research subjects were the seventh semester D-IV students at the Kediri University Midwifery Faculty Program. There are five classes in the midwifery department but only one class is taken for this study. The method used in this journal is a class action method consisting of planning, action, observation, reflection, and evaluation. In collecting data, quantitative and qualitative data are used to determine the increase in student competence in reading. To analyze the data using quantitative methods, researchers used the average value to recognize student increases and use questionnaires, observations, and interviews given to students.
The application of the DRTA technique through classroom action research consists of three cycles. Each cycle consists of three meetings to deliver material and one meeting for post test. Each meeting takes 90 minutes. In all cycles, narrative explanations and discussion texts are used as material in teaching. The first stage is done by giving a stimulus to students in the form of the title of a text, and they must be able to guess what the contents of the title of the text are about.
From the observation the results of the cycle of the one-cycle three-way findings in implementing the DRTA technique. It has positive results. The positive results are:
1. The improvement of students' reading competence
2. The improvement of confidence, motivation, and involvement in reading activity.
Students were motivated to learn English text more. By using some pictures series and video from YouTube, which is presented in the narrative, explanation, and presentation was more interesting. They made students learn enthusiastically. They enjoy and give good response during the teaching learning process. In a discussion, they helped each other to finish the task. The group was ready when they had to report on their discussion.
The DRTA technique is very suitable to used, to improve the reading skill for students, so that it is easier to be able to identify main ideas, to find meaning of new words, the student could recognize references, an to determine the information of the english language text.
Thank you :)

International jurnals review

Holla Holla reader's come back in my blog yuvi sri widia for the  many time. Today I would like to review about the theory in my journals before I read. So let's read and enjoy reading 😊

Reading is an activity that understands the contents of a text that was previously or is being read. In this journal there are several theories that are presented about what is the meaning of reading and theory about the principles of how to teach reading to students. According to the National Reading panel (2001) reading is a set of skills that allows rapid decodes text while maintaining high comprehension. Comprehension is the process of making the sense of words, sentences and connected text. According to Nunan (1998: 33) reading is a process of decoding writteny symbols, working from smaller units (individual letters) to larger ones (words, clauses and sentences).
According to Harmer (2004: 70) there are six principles behind the teaching reading, those are:
(1) Reading is not a passive skill
(2) Students need to be engaged with what they read
(3) Students should be encouraged to respond to the content of reading text
(4) Prediction is a major factor in reading
(5) Match the task to the topic
(6) Good exploit teachers reading texts to the full.
So, being able to understand the contents of the reading is very important in reading a book, text or sentence in English. Therefore, research is used with the Directed Reading Thingking Activities method quoted from the link (http: //www.education.tas.quo.ou/english/drta.htm).
DRTA is a way of teaching students to read closely and purposefully. A text is
revealed to the students in installments. As each is introduced, the students are asked
to make prediction, reach conclusions, and consider the structures and features as supporting evidence from the text.
Thank you 😊
