International jurnals review

Holla Holla reader's come back in my blog yuvi sri widia for the  many time. Today I would like to review about the theory in my journals before I read. So let's read and enjoy reading ๐Ÿ˜Š

Reading is an activity that understands the contents of a text that was previously or is being read. In this journal there are several theories that are presented about what is the meaning of reading and theory about the principles of how to teach reading to students. According to the National Reading panel (2001) reading is a set of skills that allows rapid decodes text while maintaining high comprehension. Comprehension is the process of making the sense of words, sentences and connected text. According to Nunan (1998: 33) reading is a process of decoding writteny symbols, working from smaller units (individual letters) to larger ones (words, clauses and sentences).
According to Harmer (2004: 70) there are six principles behind the teaching reading, those are:
(1) Reading is not a passive skill
(2) Students need to be engaged with what they read
(3) Students should be encouraged to respond to the content of reading text
(4) Prediction is a major factor in reading
(5) Match the task to the topic
(6) Good exploit teachers reading texts to the full.
So, being able to understand the contents of the reading is very important in reading a book, text or sentence in English. Therefore, research is used with the Directed Reading Thingking Activities method quoted from the link (http: //www.education.tas.quo.ou/english/drta.htm).
DRTA is a way of teaching students to read closely and purposefully. A text is
revealed to the students in installments. As each is introduced, the students are asked
to make prediction, reach conclusions, and consider the structures and features as supporting evidence from the text.
Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š
