Holla... Welcome on my blog again, with me Yuvi Sri Widia. In this time I will review next part from a book How to Stop Worrying and Start Living.
Let's check this out and let's reading it !
• Part Four: Seven Ways To Cultivate A Mental Attitude That Will Bring You Peace and Happiness.
In this part explained about ten ways to feel happiness in your life. Let's fight for our happiness by following a daily programme of cheerful and constructive thinking. Here is such a programme. It is entitled "Just for Today". It is found this programme from was written thirty-six years ago by the late Sibyl F. Partridge. If you and I follow it, we will eliminate most of our worries and increase immeasurably our portion of what the French call la joie de vivre
"Just For Today programme"
1. Just for today you will be happy. This assumes that what Abraham Lincoln said is true, that "most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be." Happiness is from within; it is not a matter of externals.
2. Just for today you will try to adjust myself to what is, and not try to adjust everything to my own desires. You will take your family, your business, and your luck as they come and fit yourself to them.
3. Just for today you will take care of my body. You will exercise it, care for it, nourish it, not abuse it nor neglect it, so that it will be a perfect machine for your bidding.
4. Just for today your will try to strengthen your mind. You will learn something useful. You will not be a mental loafer. You will read something that requires effort, thought and concentration.
5. Just for today you will exercise your soul in three ways: your will do somebody a good turn and not get found out. You will do at least two things you don't want to do, as William James suggests, just for exercise.
6. Just for today you will be agreeable. You will look as well as you can, dress as becomingly as possible, talk low, act courteously, be liberal with praise, criticise not at all, nor find fault with anything and not try to regulate nor improve anyone.
7. Just for today you will try to live through this day only, not to tackle your whole life problem at once. You can do things for twelve hours that would appall me if your had to keep them up for a lifetime.
8. Just for today you will have a programme. You will write down what your expect to do every hour. You may not follow it exactly, but you will have it. It will eliminate two pests, hurry and indecision.
9. Just for today you will have a quiet half-hour all by yourself and relax. In this half-hour sometimes you will think of God, so as to get a little more perspective into yur life.
10. Just for today you will be unafraid, especially you will not be afraid to be happy, to enjoy what is beautiful, to love, and to believe that those your love.
If we want to develop a mental attitude that will bring us peace and happiness, here is If You Do This, You Will Never Worry About Ingratitude. To cultivate a mental attitude that will bring you peace and happiness, remember that
"Let's never try to get even with our enemies, because if we do we will hurt ourselves far more than we hurt them"
• Part Five: The Perfect Way To Conquer Worry
Interestingly, it’s prayer, whether you happen to believe in a God or not. The point of prayer isn’t that you necessarily expect someone to answer or that you’re communicating with a higher power (though this is definitely of importance to people of faith), but that you can express what ails you, voice it in some fashion within, and open yourself up to receiving an answer, whether from your own subconscious or from a higher power. If you haven’t prayed, even if you’re an atheist, give it a shot.
• Part Six: How To Keep From Worrying About Criticism
Criticism comes from three flavors. The first is, Unjust criticism is often a disguised compliment. It often means that you have aroused jealousy and envy. Remember that no one ever kicks a dead dog. Secondly is, do the very best you can; and then put up your old umbrella and keep the rain of criticism from running down the back of your neck. The least, let's keep a record of the fool things we have done and criticise ourselves. Since we can't hope to be perfect, let's do what E. H. Little did: let's ask for unbiased, helpful, constructive criticism. This eliminates a lot of criticism; you can fend off the rest by just doing your best and then weathering it when it happens.
Thank you ☺
